Election 2010

So, the General Election 2010, or #ge2010 as it was tagged on Twitter.

I won't waffle, just have this to say:

We all voted in a democratic way for the people we wanted to represent us. Since there is no majority winner, we now get to experience a cocktail of whichever parties can wheel and deal between themselves into power...is that really democratic? Should the 3rd placed party get some of their policies agreed ahead of the second or first placed party just to guarantee power for one of the main two?

My view - whoever got the most votes should govern, but as it was not a majority, they should be given a limited time frame for government before we go to the polls again. After all, two thirds of the country vated AGAINST the party who had the most votes. We should not accept a mash-up of parties with differing policies to broker a deal just for them to secure power.

Thoughts?
